I lived in the locomotive lofts for 2.5 years and it was the best rental property I’ve ever lived in. The staff is reliable, friendly, and responsive. I never had any maintenance issues aside from a few burnt out lightbulbs and they were super accommodating when I was moving out. I highly recommend this building in Lawrenceville!

I’ve lived in a lot of apartments over the years and this by far is the best place I’ve ever lived. I am SO sad to be moving out. The building is very nice and quiet, aside from occasionally hearing the train (which I quickly got used to and barely even noticed anymore). All of the staff is super friendly and all maintenance issues were handled super quickly. Kathy is a gem of a human and was so flexible and accommodating during our time living here. The apartments are so spacious and tons of closet space. We never had any issues with street parking and being such a close walk to Butler Street was amazing! So much to do in the neighborhood, but the building is tucked away on a quiet, peaceful corner of Lawrenceville. Best of both worlds! I would recommend this place over and over and over again!

Locomotive Lofts is by far the BEST apartment complex I have ever lived in. If I had stayed in Pittsburgh, I definitely would have continued to rent here. It's a relatively small complex (approximately between 30-40 units) that is very well cared for. Sean, one of the men who works at the apartment complex, keeps the apartment common areas spotless. Trash and recycling areas were cleaned out daily on weekdays (note: they have recycling cans, but I discovered during my time there that they actually only recycle cardboard boxes). Arthur, a man who handles most of the maintenance requests, is very quick. Once, I made a maintenance request around 6 PM in the evening and Arthur arrived at 9 AM the next morning! I was very happy with the speed to which my maintenance requests were handled. The complex is very close and walkable to Butler Street. I enjoyed being a 10-15 minute walk from many of the restaurants, bars, and shops along Butler Street. It was easy access to the main roads and close to everything. As a young woman, I always felt safe in the area, which was very important for me considering I didn't know Pittsburgh well prior to moving. There is a secure gate in the front that requires a fob to gain entry into the apartment complex. Rent is reasonable considering that you're in Lawrenceville and compared to many other luxury apartments out there. The apartment was in perfect condition when my roommate and I moved in, and the quality of how they made the apartments is great. I wasn't able to hear my neighbors for the most part, and the appliances were modern. There is parking available if you wish, both covered and uncovered, but it's rather small. There is plenty of parking along Harrison Street and behind Stinky's, so parking was never an issue if you have guests over or if you have a roommate and there's not enough spaces for both of you to have parking spots. Kathy was originally difficult to get a hold of when my roommate and I were inquiring about availability prior to moving in, however once we found the correct best phone number for her, she was extremely responsive. She responded to my emails quickly, and handled any issues quickly. Around Christmas time, we received a nice card and cookies, which is so sweet! We also had a nice welcome bag upon move in, which was also much appreciated. The only downside for anyone looking for amenities is that there is no gym or pool as some other apartment complexes may have. However, there are several carts for groceries or moving that are available in the lobby area, which is very useful when moving in and out. Other potential downsides may be that there is also a railroad nearby, so you can hear the train multiple times throughout the night. There's also an industrial building of some sort across the street from the complex, so often times there are large trucks that drive through Harrison Street that can be loud. Otherwise, the apartment complex and its tenants were very quiet. Considering that Pittsburgh is an industrial city, I would say that the noise generated from the train and the trucks is pretty normal for Pittsburgh. I highly recommend Locomotive Lofts!
