This Tucson landmark sits at the corner of Mountain Ave and Roger Road, and is affectionately known as the Castle. It was built in 1959 by a local Tucson brick mason and builder, and the entire structure was created by hand using reclaimed brick. The attention to detail is incredible, and the property retains almost all of it's original features. It is truly unlike any other building in Tucson, and our office is very excited to manage such a historically significant and unusual property. While this is a duplex, the unit is very private, and is larger than most single family homes in Tucson. It has a covered parking space, as well as a fenced front and back yard. The entire exterior and interior is constructed of exposed brick, with numerous Hobbit doors, shelves, and illuminated coves throughout the house. There are two beautiful and functional fireplaces, as well as custom wood details in every room. The kitchen has a brick hearth stovetop, as well as a built in bar and unusual vintage Frigidaire French door oven- the only example I have ever seen. The property was renovated six years ago, at which time the electric, roof, and central AC was replaced. It remains in excellent condition, and is ready for the next appreciative occupant. We have very little turn over at this property- the current tenant has been here for six years, and the unit next door has had the same occupant for the past 30 years.
