The Place: Gated unit, garage, washer/dryer in unit, dishwasher in unit, A/C and Heater in unit, super high ceilings, very cool spiral staircase leading up to the loft, tons of light, huge windows. What else can you ask for? Feels much more like living in a townhouse than a small, LA-like apartment. The Room: Converted loft bedroom. Pretty much the whole second floor is yours -- we rarely go up there so it's super private! Bedroom is curtained off. Shared bath on the 1st floor with me. Me: Female, 28, working professional at an animal welfare nonprofit in Marina del Rey. Originally from the East Coast but moved to LA a few years ago. Not loud, no partying or drugs, respectful of others. Also have 1 adorable cat named Shady living here so you MUST MUST be ok with pets and animals. Other roommate: 35, female, works at a Santa Monica nonprofit, has an adorable German Shepard Mix dog named Kiku, lives in the master bedroom. Cost: Rent is currently $800/month plus utils (wi-fi and power which is usually about $50 total). Cable is currently only in my room, so if you'd like cable upstairs or in the living room it's definitely doable (and has been done with roomies past). Deposit will be required. Apt on a month-to-month lease with the management company which is awesome. You'll have to have your name on the lease, pass the credit check, etc. Just 30 days notice to the mgmt company if you want out of the lease! You: Female, 20s to mid 30s, responsible, steady income source, fun and friendly, does her own thing but doesn't mind occasional hang outs and chats, knows how to be respectful of others (there has been a roomie in the past that had no concept of this and not going to make that mistake again!).
