San Francisco Bay Area Metro Report: June 2019

The Zumper San Francisco Bay Area Metro Report analyzed active listings in May 2019 across 30 metro cities to show the most and least expensive cities and cities with the fastest growing rents. The California one bedroom median rent last month was $1,766.

Cities Ranked By Rent

The Most Expensive

San Francisco, Californie remained the most expensive city with one bedrooms priced at $3,700.

Mountain View, CA stayed the second priciest with rent at $3,450.

Palo Alto, CA also had a flat month with rent continuing to rank as third and priced at $3,150.

The Least Expensive

Vallejo, CA saw rent drop $20 to $1,380 but remain the most affordable city.

Santa Rosa, CA was second with rent at $1,600.

Napa, CA rent grew $20 to $1,670 but stayed third.

Growth Rate

The Fastest Growing (Y/Y%)

Palo Alto, CA had the fastest growing rent, up 11.7% since this time last year.

Milpitas, CA saw rent climb 8.4%, making it second.

The Fastest Growing (M/M%)

Richmond & South San Francisco, CA tied for the city with the fastest growing rent last month, both up 5%.

San Mateo, CA had the second largest monthly rental growth rate, climbing 4.7%.
