The Zumper SF Bay Area Metro Report analyzed active listings in November across 30 metro cities to show the most and least expensive cities and cities with the fastest growing rents. The California one bedroom median rent was $1,751.
Cities Ranked By Rent
The Most Expensive
–San Francisco, Californie rent, similar to last month, continued to drop, decreasing $30 to $3,390. However, the city still remained the most expensive in the metro by over $250.
–Mountain View, CA remained the second most expensive with one bedrooms priced at $3,110.
–Emeryville, CA saw rent grow $130 to $2,790, now ranking as third priciest.
The Least Expensive
–Vallejo, CA prices grew $30 to $1,360 but remained the most affordable in the metro.
–Santa Rosa, CA fell behind Napa to rank as the second least expensive city with rent at $1,540.
–Napa, CA grew one spot to become the third least expensive city with one bedrooms priced at $1,560.
Growth Rate
The Fastest Growing (Y/Y%)
–Petaluma, CA, similar to last month, had the fastest growing rent since this time last year, climbing 15.9%.
–Concord, CA rent had the second largest monthly growth rate, jumping 15.3%.
–Santa Clara, CA ranked as third with rent up 14.4%.
The Fastest Growing (M/M%)
–Richmond, CA rent was the fastest growing last month, climbing 5.3%.
–Santa Clara, South San Francisco, Oakland, CA all tied for second with prices growing 5.1%.
–Emeryville, CA had the third largest monthly rental growth rate, up 4.9%.
