Mapping Chicago Rent Prices This Summer (June 2016)

Chicago rent prices last month saw a mix of trends. One bedroom prices dropped 1.1% to a median of $1,740, while two bedrooms increased 1.3% to $2,430. Rents by neighborhood saw a wide spectrum, as depicted in the rent map below.

The most expensive neighborhoods to rent this summer, all priced above the $2,000 threshold, were Near North Side ($2,100), the Loop ($2,090), and Near West Side ($2,050). Mid-ranged priced rentals, in the $1,000-$1,250 spectrum, were located just north of these expensive neighborhoods, including Logan Square, Lakeview, and Edgewater.
