Jumping a spot this month, Chicago climbed back into the top ten rankings as the 10th most expensive city to rent in the nation. The price of one bedrooms decreased 1.7% to a median of $1,750, while two bedrooms jumped 3.6% to $2,430. Chicago outpaced Seattle, San Diego, and Fort Lauderdale in our most recent list of rent prices across the nation.

Tied at a median of $2,100 for one bedroom units, River North and West Loop were the most expensive neighborhoods to rent this fall. Close behind, Loop ($2,070), Streeterville ($2,060), and Greektown ($2,050) were the next priciest areas.
More affordable rentals, priced at less than $1,100, could be found in and around Little Village ($900), Irving Park ($1,050), and Humboldt Park ($1,050).
