Dropping out of the top 5 markets this month, Los Angeles fell behind D.C. to rank as the 6th most expensive city to rent. The price of one and two bedroom units settled at $2,130 and $3,050, respectively. Since this time last year, one bedroom rent is up over 8%.
Central Alameda and CANNDU had the fastest growing rent this summer, both up over 11% since last quarter.
While coastal Santa Monica, Venice, and Marina del Rey continued to reign as the most expensive areas to rent on this map, other noticeably pricy areas included Bel Air – Beverly Crest ($2,400), Historic Cultural ($2,350), and Mid-City West ($2,300). Much more affordable rentals, for less than $1,500, that were still close bustling Downtown Los Angeles included Pico Union, MacArthur Park, and UNNC.
