With one-bedroom median rent at $3,350 per month, San Francisco holds the title for having the highest rent prices in the nation. And there’s no sign of decline quite yet – San Francisco is experiencing one of the steepest price hikes nationwide with a whopping increase of 8.1% quarter-to-quarter.
For those looking to move into or within the city, be sure to check out the prices by neighborhood:
Coming in at $3,830, Russian Hill is the most expensive neighborhood in the city, with Financial District ($3,700) at a close second. The Marina and South Beach are tied for third place with a median price of $3,600.
On the other end, Outer Mission/Excelsior has the cheapest rent ($1,750) in the city, unchanged from its median October price. The median rent in Bayview, which was at $1,900 in October, has made its way up to $2,200 in November.
Some neighborhoods with notable price changes from October to November are Ashbury Heights and Downtown/The Tenderloin, which now stand at $2,960 (+15%) and $2,820 (+8.5%), respectively.
