Chicago Rent Prices Mapped This Spring (March 2017)

According to our most recent national rent report, Chicago rounded off the top ten markets as the tenth most expensive city to rent this month. The price of one bedroom units settled at $1,730, while two bedroom units were $2,280. Since this time last year, two bedroom rent is down over 10%.

While River North, Greektown, and Streeterville were some of the most expensive neighborhoods to rent this spring, Loop ($1,950), Near South Side ($1,820), and Rush & Division ($1,820) were notably pricy areas as well. On the other end of the cost spectrum, Riverdale ($600), Fuller Park ($600), and South Deering ($625) were the most affordable neighborhoods to rent.

Garfield Ridge and Wicker Park had some of the fastest growing rents, both up over 10% since last quarter.
