The Zumper Austin Metro Report analyzed active listings in August across 13 metro cities to show the most and least expensive cities and cities with the fastest growing rents.
Cities Ranked By Rent
The Most Expensive
–Austin, Brushy Creek, & Leander, TX all tied for the most expensive city this month with one bedrooms priced at $1,100.
–Hutto, TX followed closely behind with rent at $1,050.
–Cedar Park, TX was third at $1,030.
The Least Expensive
–San Marcos, TX rent remained fairly stable since last month and continued to rank as the most affordable in the metro.
–Jollyville, TX prices dropped 2% as it ranked as the second least expensive place to rent a one bedroom.
–Wells Branch & Kyle, TX tied for third with rents at $980.
Growth Rate
The Fastest Growing (Y/Y%)
–Leander, TX rent had the largest yearly growth rate, up 14.6%.
–Hutto, TX had the second fastest growing rent since this time last year, climbing 10.5%.
–Brushy Creek, TX ranked as third with rent up 8.9%.
The Fastest Growing (M/M%)
–Wells Branch, TX rent saw a huge spike since last month, up 5.4%.
–Buda, TX had the second fastest growing rent since last month, climbing 3.1%.
