Austin Metro Report: March 2017

The Zumper Austin Metro Report analyzed over 30,400 active listings in February across the 13 metro cities to show the most and least expensive cities and cities with the fastest growing rents.

Most Expensive

Leander, TX was the priciest city to rent in the Austin metro area with a one bedroom median of $1,110. Rent here was over $200 more expensive than the $887 state median.

Austin, Texas came in just behind Leander with rent priced at $1,080, making it the second most expensive city.

Brushy Creek, TX ranked as third with one bedroom units at $1,030.

Least Expensive

San Marcos, TX was the most affordable city to rent in the metro area. Rent for one bedroom units settled at $860.

Wells Branch, TX, following closely behind, ranked as the second least expensive city with rent priced at $880.

Kyle, TX came in third with a one bedroom median of $900.

Fastest Growing

Georgetown, TX had the fastest growing rents, up 13.2% since this time last year.

Jollyville, TX rents were the second fastest growing, jumping 4.4%.

Pflugerville, TX rents ranked as third with a yearly growth rate of 4.3%.
