Austin Metro Report: July 2018

The Zumper Austin Metro Report analyzed active listings in June across 13 metro cities to show the most and least expensive cities and cities with the fastest growing rents. The state median one bedroom rent was $949 last month.

The Most Expensive

Austin, TX rent rose $10 to $1,190 but remained the most expensive in the metro.

Leander, TX was second with rent at $1,140.

Brushy Creek & Georgetown, TX tied for third with one bedrooms priced at $1,100.

The Least Expensive

San Marcos, TX saw rent drop $30, settling at $890, and down one spot to become the most affordable.

Wells Branch, TX moved up one spot to rank as the second least expensive city with rent at $960.

Kyle & Buda, TX tied for third with prices both at $980.

Growth Rate

The Fastest Growing (Y/Y%)

Austin, TX rent had the largest year over year growth rate, up 14.4%.

Georgetown, TX had the second fastest growing rent, climbing 8.9%.

The Fastest Growing (M/M%)

Wells Branch, TX rent rose 5.5% last month, making it the fastest growing.

Jollyville, TX was second with rent jumping 4.2%.AUSjuly
