Honestly there are not enough good things I can say about having lived here. It has been one of the most pleasant experiences Ive had since moving here; true it is a bit on the expensive side. However the staff are truly wonderful people, the young ladies at the leasing office are always kind and extremely helpful. They answer any and all questions and provide professional, and prompt responses when it comes to any issues with the apartments. The neighbors are friendly, kind, and quiet, and one gets a real sense of community living here. Pool is very well maintained and is never dirty, exercise room is awesome, and the grounds are manicured daily by their proficient maintenance personnel.
In summation; an EXCELLENT place to live that I highly recommend!

Nowhere is perfect but I really like it here. It’s laid out well. You can fish in the ponds. The grounds are especially nice. A few picnic tables and several Adirondack chairs are scattered around the water. It gives the impression of being far more secluded than it actually is. Indeed, this is a very convenient location near Ridge and Little. There is a quiet, city park-like atmosphere here. It’s a well-shared space. As quiet as can be expected and we have good neighbors. A few places are showing some age and not every unit can be a winner, but all-in-all, it’s quite lovely. I feel lucky to be here. Sometimes, a food truck will even sit across from the office for the day. Swanky!

I love living here. Rent is all inclusive except for electric. Beautufully maintained grounds and wanting areas. Quiet place. Good insulation so you don't heat neighbors on either side of you. Best of all, office staff and maintenance are responsive and friendly, and go out of their way to make living here a joy!!! I plan on staying for many years to come!

Solid place to live, great if you have dogs. Lots of outdoor area space. Been here about 3 years.
I have seen a lot of reviews on here with people rating this Complex low stars based upon others reviews without going to see this complex themselves and draw their own opinions. So I feel compelled to write mine. I moved into The lakes in 2013 and lived there until 2014 with 4 other roommates. I believe Ashley was the manager at the time I am not sure. But anyways my experience was wonderful. The leasing process was painless and the office staff were ridiculously nice EVERY single time we went in. If these wonderful ladies were having a bad day I could never tell. They were fun to talk to and I actually enjoyed going down to the office every month to pay my rent. (Also the complimentary snacks were nice too. ) We even switched roommates at one point and getting one off the lease and another on was so simple. My apartment was clean and any time I had a maintenance issue it was addressed within 24 hours. On top of that the maintenance men were very nice, we welcomed their conversation and it didn't feel as if we had some strange man in our apartment. ( We were all young women ages 18-20). We had 1 bug issue that was our fault in how we stored our food but they got it under control very quickly. This is very much a mixed community but I loved it, I only moved because of a job. But there were college students and families although I rarely saw the college students, I only knew that they lived there because they were in my classes. My neighbors were soooo wonderful and we got along so well. There were two families below us and an older gentleman that we shared steps with and they were the kindest people. ( I actually went over and had the older gentleman help me open a pickle jar once lol and he helped us get the bugs out of our pantry and helped get rid of our food before maintenance came). But it was not irregular for one of us roommates at any given time to be downstairs hanging out with one of the families, 1 family even had his daughters up with us and we did their hair. It was very much a family like community. The grounds were well kept and the grass was rarely overgrown and we lived towards the back of the complex. If you are seriously looking for an apartment, take the time to pay them a visit. Do not draw your conclusion and write them off over an angry review. Everyone has a different experience and mine was wonderful.

I have been living in a 2 bedroom 1 bath for the past 3 years. Management is very respectful, maint. has a good turn around time as long as you address the urgency. I would recommend this place to anyone. One thing I would ask for is for better outside lighting for the parking spaces. Seems the apartments closest to the roads get messed with by thieves and drunken travelers.
Update to my initial post. The Lakes at Port Richey has taken many steps to improve the quality of living for its residents. It's nice to be able to walk your children to the swings, or the pool and not have cars speeding through the parking lot. My children enjoy living here now and SO DO I!!!
In fact, we just recently had a resident event for fall. Everyone was able to come to the leasing office and enjoy some snacks. My youngest daughter really enjoyed making her own candy apples. Besides, the fall event there are events over the summer as well by the pool. We love going to each one. The kids get to play games and a barbecue usually occurs too. It's a great time.
The office staff is very pleasant to work with and they are willing to help you in any way possible. Maintenance in the complex is great too. Recently, my air conditioner stopped working. The maintenance crew was out within 15 minutes and provided us a temporary unit while ours was being repaired. The next morning maintenance came out to make sure that the repairs done were working correctly. You can't ask for more than that at all.
There are lots of children who live here, which is great for my kids. They always have friends around. They are NEVER BORED!!!
Many complexes do not allow you to have a pet, or usually only one pet. At the Lakes you are able to have two pets, which has worked well for my family too. There is a dog park that my family and I use regularly. Lots of toys for the pups.
Overall, my family is happy and that is what is most important to me.

Coming from New York, this being my first apartment, I must say it’s decent. Very peaceful even at night. The complex it’s self looks nice on the outside. Has all the amenities. Maintenance is nice and gets job done. Management is nice and understanding. They hold your packages in the office for you, and also allow you to leave packages there to get shipped out. I would recommend. I have the biggest floor plan (3 bedroom) wish they had a 4 bedroom.
