When I first moved into my apartment in May 2009 I was really disappointed. Door knobs were missing, light bulbs were burnt out, and many other things. It was a mess. I complained to management and they took a while to get everything in order. A little bit later the property manager was let go and they brought on Amber. Amber quickly changed everything that was wrong with the complex. She does an amazing job and works very hard on keeping the tenants happy. Also, Umberto the maintenance guy is probably the hardest worker I have ever met. He always does a great job and is willing to stay late just to make sure the job is done right.
This has been one of the best communities I have lived in.
Top notch from top to bottom. Dan the maintenance manger takes care of the minor repairs you need instantly. The office crew, Godha and Nancy are two of earth's best creatures. They made me a great deal. Some days they stand at the bottom of the hill and give coffee and donuts to us on our way to work.
The complex is clean and has lots of amenities. They have garages with remote control, lots of open parking. Beautiful pool area that is always perfectly clean. The gym is small but never used and you can get a great workout. Washer / dryers, disposals, dishwashers, and microwaves. The two bedroom, two bath layout is a perfect share. I'm never moving.
Staff is proactive about everything. All issues with unit gets taken care of quickly and thoroughly. Manager Jennifer and Head of Maintenance Nick make a good team and work well together to keep the neighborhood safe, and keep the residents happy. I have zero issues with how this place has been run in my 9 years here.

We have recently had a wonderful experience here at Alta vista. First, Dan the maintenance guy does a great job. Every time I have a problem is he is able to fix it right away.Second, I also love how well kept this place is it is always clean. Third, every time I walk in the leasing office Lilia and Felicia do such a great job on making me feel at home. I’m a military wife and we’re far away from home so it means so much to me that I can walk in there and pick up my package and always leave with a smile on my face. Overall, I give this place a 5 stars!

Living at Alta Vista Apartments
I began exploring living accommodations in Escondido two years ago, and after searching for affordable small houses and viewing apartments that would welcome pets, I toured Alta Vista and felt drawn to it immediately. Alta Vista’s manager, Lilia Young, was pleasant, welcoming, and professional from the moment I arrived. She has never wavered from her positive attitude and ability to communicate effectively. She holds a genuine respect for the residents and remains accommodating and friendly during every encounter. Other employees who work closely with Lilia are equally as professional and amicable.
Alta Vista’s handyman offers availability at merely a day’s notice and possesses adeptness at assessing and repairing all amenities and utilities. The maintenance he provides consistently safeguards the satisfaction and security of the residents. His friendly nature not only makes residents feel valued but extends them the assurance that their needs are important. He commits to every request, no matter how small.
Grounds keepers deserve commendation as well. Foliage maintenance at Alta Vista is exemplary and exudes a professionalism that makes Alta Vista’s beauty exceed many other communities in the area.
I can honestly say I continue to feel excited about living here and calling Alta Vista my home.

I have 2 little dogs that are my life so finding a dog friendly apartment was the priority. I had no idea how many EXTRAS I would get when I toured here, or how beautiful this community is. Pictures do not do it justice. Once I knew I liked Alta Vista best of the 20 places I looked at, I read reviews. What most convinced me to move here were the reviews, and now I am writing a review to endorse renting here. The remodeling they did is breathtaking! Everything is new, modern and beautiful. Having a garage, pool, gym, jacuzzi and a view is amazing. I took a ground floor 2 bedroom, with 2 full bathrooms. It has dark hardwood looking flooring that looks beautiful and is dog friendly. All my stainless steel appliances had never been used. No other apartment I visited had the closet space Alta Vista has. I barely hear my upstairs neighbor and it is quiet at night.
The staff is great!! Dan the Maintenance Guy, Ghada and Nancy Lopez were very inviting, helpful and patient. Everyone is really nice and come across as loving their job and really caring about their tenants happiness. We worked the most with Nancy and we just love her!!! She is so funny, sweet and helpful. She knows her job inside and out and made the process easy. She also has excellent follow up and made sure we completed our paperwork so we didn't miss out on the specific apartment we wanted. I love it here so much, I already referred a friend that moved in immediately with her dog. Alta Vista came through right away with the $250.00 Refer-A-Friend check.
Bottom line, this staff makes all the difference and the remodeling feels luxurious.... I am very happy so my dogs and I give 5 stars!

These apartments set a higher standard of living for the area of Escondido. The complex is perched on top of a hill in its own quiet area with nice views and privacy.
My wife and I moved in to a 1 Bedroom at the end of March in 2018, and just finished a 12 month lease handing over the keys today.
The move in process was very easy for me and you wife who was pregnant at the time. She actually was able to handle everything online and over the phone from Chicago; where she was staying while I was deployed to the Middle East. Regardless of having very little contact with me, Lilia and Felicia (the leasing agents) were able accommodate us. We got a move in date the weekend after I returned to San Diego.
The morning I moved in, I was at the leasing office getting all of the paperwork situated before I had to meet my movers at my storage unit on time. My wife was still in Chicago waiting to fly in later that night. To my relief they were able to get me through the process super-fast so that I wasn't late to meet my movers to get everything from storage. A lot of documents were done online so it wasn't a lot of papers to go through.
After getting settled in, I met Dan the maintenance representative who is very friendly and devoted to the upkeep of these apartments. I quickly learned that I was in good hands if anything in our apartment needed repair. He actually lives on site, and any time I have had any issues with my apartment it has been very easy for us to put help requests. He will show up in a timely manner and get down to the issue.
Parking is now assigned and you will get your own spot to park in, or garages if you have a two bedroom. I also specifically enjoyed the gas stove top and Nest thermostat that can be linked through Wi-Fi and you can adjust the A/C or heat from your phone.
Altogether I highly recommend Alta Vista apartments to anyone who wants a greater quality of living, and Military families that could benefit from the flexibility of the team here. My wife and I enjoyed our stay here so much we upgraded to a two bedroom, now that we have a little one.

I absolutely love the community and the management/maintenance team. It’s clean, quiet, and incredibly well managed. We’ve lived a multiple properties in the past, but none as well cared for as Alta Vista. Lilia and Felicia are always a pleasure to work with, and Dan is a real life super hero. I haven’t had a ton of maintenance calls, but Dan always shows up ASAP and gets the job done. He’s super proactive about maintenance; whenever we see him out and about, he always asks if there’s anything our apartment might need. I’ve been burned by a few different properties in the past, but Alta Vista has my full confidence. I absolutely recommend this place to anyone looking in the area.
