I've stayed at Sport Haven many times beginning in 1987 until I moved outta State 20-yrs later.*I would recommend this place to everyone. *I still have people I know staying here. It's Always clean, roomy, & well-run by the owners; anything you ask for or need is taken care of nicely. Also, it's close to Footesite's Beautiful Beach & Dam, 2-Convienence stores; 1) Paulette's: Groceries & 2) The Dam Store: Gas, Bait & Groceries, 1-Restaurant: called Desi's: (Awesome Food & Service w/Large portions; & the Owners bend over backwards for their Customers to make sure they're happy w/Everything), Ice Cream stand, & the AuSable River Queen (takes you up/down the AuSable River). & the Scenery is beyond belief in any Season. Winter is especially great for snowmobiling & hunting. You can also go to the Foote Dam & watch the Salmon jumping outta the water while going upstream to spawn. I couldn't believe my eyes the 1st time I experienced this amazing site; & it seemed like the Salmon jumped at least 12-inches outta the water. 👍I recommend bringing a Camera 📷/Video Camera 📽 with you at All times; becuz you never know what you'll find or see while your visiting in Footesite. & If you listen closely on late nights/early mornings, you can hear Deer walking around (if your lucky, Lookout the window Quietly, & you may See 1-or-more feeding or playing), & sometimes, you can see where they've laid during the night by the flattened ground/leaves & it still may be warm too. 🌟Please when driving through this area (Footesite) that you ✔ for People🚸& Especially Kids crossing the road & ✔for People on Bikes🚲🚵too.

I used to stay there when I was a kid back in the 70-80’s. It’s a dump now, a mere shadow of what it used to be. People would probably prefer being homeless than staying there with the condition they are in now. The person who left a 5 star review must not have seen the place since 1987, or is heavily medicated.
