As with any apartment building, it’s only as good its community. The best part of my experience living at The Atherton is “Apartment Life”, a group that organizes 3 themed community events a month, all of which are very intentional in bringing together/socializing the residents— from thanksgiving meals to poolside parties.
Because CLT is a transplant city, many have moved a great deal away from friends & family, these events help bridge the gap and create a sense of community. Becca & Chris Jolly host Apartment Life events and connect new and existing residents, making all feel welcomed and at home. If the atherton is the soul of south end, then Becca and Chris are the heart!

The Atherton is a great place to live if you are moving to CLT from out of town and want to be at the center of everything. My husband and I lived here for about a year and had a good experience. They keep it very clean, have good amenities, and the front desk and maintenance is very responsive. You do have to give 60 days notice before moving, but that’s pretty standard! Parking on the weekends can be annoying but that’s about it.

Living at the Atherton has been a cool experience, which is why it’s been two years now and I still haven’t left. The location is unbeatable, with everything I need within walking distance, making it a truly walkable and convenient community.
What really sets the Atherton apart, though, is the community, thanks to Becca and Chris from ApartmentLife. They put on some of the best events, like pool parties, cornhole tournaments, community dinners, make-your-own waffles, and even festive Christmas parties. These events have been such a fun way to meet new people and build lasting friendships. I love how welcoming it feels, especially in a city like Charlotte that brings in people from all over the country, many without their friends or family nearby. Becca and Chris have created a sense of belonging that makes this place feel like home. It's been an amazing way to connect with neighbors and build a real sense of community.
On top of that, the maintenance team here is top-notch—always quick, responsive, and thorough. If there’s ever an issue, it’s taken care of in no time. Overall, the Atherton is more than just a place to live—it’s a community that makes you want to stay.

The Atherton has been such an amazing place to live. The community here is awesome, and events are so fun, Becca and Chris do a phenomenal job with planning fun things to bring the residents together! The facility is amazing, great location. Walkable to everything you could need. Maintenance is the best I’ve ever had in an apartment. Definitely recommend living here!
