I lived at the Biltmore for several years and really enjoyed my stay. It is a quiet and peaceful building in a great location. My property manager was responsive, kind, and informative

I have lived at the Biltmore now since 2016. Biltmore is part of the Stallard and Associates rental portfolio. The price for rent, water, gas and trash is very affordable. You have your base rent to pay and they add in the water, gas and trash. BUT you get what you pay for. There are no regularly staffed maintenance. Temporay staff are hired to perform duties. I have been told that is changing. Doors slamming...get used to hearing the back door and side door slamming all the time. I don't know how you could fix this but is sure annoying. The biggest issue though has been the cost of electricity in this apartment. During the summer I run my AC at about 72 degrees and my monthly bill averages around $85. In the Winter, I have to keep my heat set at 62 degrees! This costs me around $150 per month. If you turn your thermostat to 68 degrees, expect a $300 electric bill. No joke. Asked for a real HVAC tech to come out and look at the furnace and it never happened. When "maintenance" came to replace the air filter (maybe once or twice a year - you can't do it yourself as the furnace closet is locked) I asked them to look at the furnace, describing the problem. I swear to God, in front of the leasing agent Patrick, the man said "What do you want me to do about it"? Also, there is no buzzer or intercom to let in guests or deliveries. Package theft is terrible here. No amenities. old appliances, You hear gunshots often. Mail boxes are old fashioned and quaint but so outdated. Most of the mailboxes don't lock and anyone can access your mail. I had requested service on my box but it never was repaired. There are no amenities. Washing area is just ok. Not a nice environment to clean your clothes - think old basement and cobwebs. I am finally in a financial position to get out and will do so in the next few months. Everyone has been nice at Stallard. The move in process was very simple and easy. I am just tired of a low standard apartment building and upkeep, hearing gunshots ALL the time and people's dogs crapping in the path to the dumpster. Here are some nice things about the building: Nice Harwood floors, hallways are kept nice and neat, stove is gas all else electric, trash dumpster truck comes often and mostly a quiet building with all age professionals. There are some college students, but not too many.
