Quiet, peaceful, secluded. Great manager too! Highly recommend.

My fiance and I have lived here for two years now, and we love it. 1) You are right in the thick of the city, yet you really don't hear a thing! These apartments are on the highest hill in Tigard, we are surrounded by trees, and it is so, so quiet. All major stores are within 10 minutes driving. Additionally, Petco, Safeway, Grocery Outlet, (and much more) are literally right down the street. 2) Insulation is great, we hardly ever hear our neighbors. However, we tend to have TV or music playing softly. I suppose if you like it absolutely quiet in your house you would most likely hear cupboards close, etc. We can hear the fans in bathrooms come on in the apartment under us. But it doesn't bother us. And if you need it absolutely quiet, apartment living isn't the best option for that, anyway. lol 3) Friendly management/maintenance! Our first year here, we were dealing with craigslist roommates. After two really bad ones, we decided never again. We were so late on rent so many months in a row, but the management was very patient with us. Maintenance is very friendly, speedy and helpful! The new guy, Jason, is amazing! 4) The apartment is a very good size compared to others in the area. The living room alone is bigger than living rooms in most HOUSES we have been in. We have the dining room as an extension of our kitchen, so our kitchen is very large as well. Master bedroom is so large we turned it into our office/game room, and the smaller bedroom is the perfect size for a queen bed, two nightstands, and one dresser. 5) Family friendly, pet friendly. Lots of kids here, and the bus stop is right out at the front entrance. Pet deposit + additional rent. Potty bag dispensers with trash cans are available around the complex. 6) Wholesome community events throughout the year. Annual garage sale, BBQ, etc. They have a monthly newspaper sent out for important info, dates, and a seasonal recipe at the end. 7) Other miscellaneous pros: Washer and dryer in unit, very large patio, jets in bathtub, year-round hottub! Only a couple small Cons: (Doesn't bother us too much, but might be a consideration for other people) 1) Parking. You're given one carport included in your rent, so if you only have one car, you are fine. My fiance and I have two cars, as most people do who live together, whether roommates/spouses/friends. If you get home anytime after 8pm you can almost guarantee that you will be parking out on the street (there is ample street parking, so this isn't TOO bad). Additionally, the carport spot that they DO give you, will most likely be quite a ways away from your actual apartment. This sucks for grocery hauls, especially if you have chronic health issues like my fiance and I. But we make it work. 2) Steep hills. Like I mentioned, these apartments are on a very large hill, which is SO nice, but also has its consequences. You have two ways up the hill: 99 --> Canterbury rd --> 109th, or 99 --> Royal Parkway-->109th. Canterbury is quite a hill, but the hill going from Canterbury to 109th is KILLER. And quite dangerous when icy. The grade is immense, it is massively curved, and people park on both sides of the road making it a very tiny amount of space you need to pass through. Royal Parkway is the road leading from 99 to Safeway, you just follow the rest of the way up that hill. It is still steep, but much more gradual, and a much wider road to work with. That being said, there are also steep hills in the apartment complex you have to work with, whether trying to park on them, or having to walk up them to get from your car to your home, and some people might not be able to reasonably do this everyday. On the plus side, us being so high up, we get the most beautiful snowfall, and this area looks so serene during this time of year. Our apartments are cozy and perfect, and we don't mind being "snowed in" (from those steep icy streets) for the 1-3 days a year it happens. Overall this is a great place to live. We feel lucky everyday that we found this place.
