TLDR: Mixed experience with basement apartment, ask lots of questions about basement level apartment maintenance history, see if you can meet or email current tenant/neighbors This apartment was a very mixed experience. It is split between loft apartments on the top floor and regular apartments on the basement level. I had a basement apartment on the corner of the building. Pros: Management is very quick to respond and willing to help their residents. Emergency maintenance is taken care of ASAP. Beautiful neighborhood. 2 blocks from police station, so well patrolled. Cons: Any maintenance that isn't an emergency can be postponed for a long while if you don't keep reminding them. Very thin walls. No secondary exit in case of fire (window don't open). Kind of expensive, but not incredibly over priced.
