I moved in during a snowstorm and DC was basically shut down. The staff at Metro was so helpful! I have moved around a lot for my job and I appreciated their warmth and professionalism. And the apt was pristine. Maintenance is prompt. Hu This landmark building is a gem.

We are SO lucky to have found the Metropolitan! After contacting 50+ places (including some predatory lending schemes), the Metropolitan was truly the only building that was within budget, a 10 minute walk from the metro, and had all the amenities we were looking for (gym, mail room, a beautiful lobby with free coffee, etc.)
The real reason we picked this place though was Janice, the leasing agent, made the entire process so easy — she really goes above and beyond. When I first called and there were no open availabilities, Janice offered to put me on a waitlist and actually followed up with me one month later (no other apartments I’ve worked with have done that). When the apartment we were moving into wasnt get ready for showing, she contacted another resident in the building so we could look at a similar model. She was personally responsive to all our questions, and truly knows each resident by name. She, alongside Russel, Bernice, and Emanuel really sets a community culture at the Metropolitan. Sure, the walls are not always sound proof and the hallways sometimes don’t smell the best — but those are small inconveniences compared to what really matters, the friendly and responsive staff.
I love the staff at The Metropolitan but today Emmanuel went to extraordinary lengths to retrieve my keys after I accidentally dropped them down the trash chute. Serious hero status!!! Thank you for the extra care!!
The team here is absolutely fabulous. From my initial inquiry to the speed and attentiveness of the maintenance crew, everyone who works in this building is such a delight. I am particularly impressed with how prompt service is whenever I have a concern. Safety was a priority of mine when moving and I appreciate how secure the building feels. I was especially impressed with the cleanliness of my apartment when I moved in. I am so thankful for the Metropolitan and love living here!

When I move back to DC, I hope to return to the Metro. :)
I moved in for one week so far. And it has been a great experience. I appreciate all the assistance I got from the warm team- Meaghan, Mr. Emmanuel and Lesly. The community is dynamic and very friendly based on my observation. I look forward to talking to more neighbors over the next couple months. Don't expect there are no problems for an old apartment, but I would say it is no more than any other regular apartments. Not to mention the very helpful team always can fix them immediately. I believe I will enjoy my stay here.
Mannie took care of my kitchen sink leak on the same day of my service request. He is always a pleasure. One of only a few staff members that keeps the Metropolitan a pleasant place to reside.
This an absolutely fantastic place to live. Great apartments, beautiful courtyard, and pet friendly. The manager, Russell, is always quick to respond and mediate any concerns. Emanuel, the maintenance guy, is incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and fixes things quickly. My neighbors are respectful and issues are usually resolved resident to resident. This building is a mix of young professionals, older folks, and families. That means it's quiet after midnight every night . If you are looking for a place where you can play loud music all night --- keep looking. You won't be happy here because people will complain. If you want a place to live your life in harmony with your neighbors, have a little peace in the city, and live in a place with responsive and respectful management -- then the Metropolitan is for you!
