This place was built in the 1940s, so it's had plenty of time to receive the type of makeover that sacrifices the tucked-away, cottage-like aesthetic, and thankfully it's managed to keep its soul after all these years. Not to say that this place hasn't received more than its fair share of modernizing love. Inside, hardwoods run throughout, catching the light through the large front windows. Over there, opposite the fireplace, the hangout-worthy galley-style kitchen comes with high-end appliances, an epic backsplash, loads of storage, and way more than enough counter space to cook and entertain simultaneously. Check out the giant walk-in pantry to confirm that this is, after all, a legit chef's kitchen. Down the hall, a pair of bedrooms. Thick molding, heavy wooden doors, crystal doorknobs, for goodness sake. (Still those little touches from back when.) And, the primary's fully overhauled ensuite -- twin vanity, a large shower, and you can't give enough bonus points to that giant steeping tub. Downstairs, an unfinished basement covers nearly the entire footprint and is ready to be used as the new tenant sees fit. An art studio separate from the rest of the home, with loads of room to spread out? There it is. Or, maybe, loads of storage for your "stuff." And it's that inimitable City of Decatur location. More specifically, central to *everything*: Decatur Square is about 5 minutes by bike; just a short surface commute to the north are Emory, CDC, and the other big employers. You'd never know.
