Our house in a quite residential street (Berkeley Way) 1/2 block from Berkeley Trader Joes is looking for its newest roommate(s)! Said house will henceforth be referred to as 'Housetub' - because well, you know...it's a house WITH A HOT TUB. The room: For the lucky winner of this ad, is our downstairs master bedroom (AVAILABLE JANUARY 1) . The room is very large, and would be great for a couple. It could also house two beds (for people interested in living here as non-couple, non-bed-sharing roommates) and have plenty of room to spare OR just an incredibly kick ass large room for one person. There is also a private shower and sink in the room, with another full bath about 5 feet away from the room. It is has easy access to the kitchen and living room. Has built in shelves and cabinet space (plenty of storage!) and what used to be a fireplace! Because you're classy, and you deserve that! Housetub: Housetub has 5 bedrooms - 4 smaller singles upstairs and the master downstairs - and 3.5 bathrooms. Laundry is in the house upstairs, and is free! That's right, no more asking for your at your $7 in change sunday brunch all in quarters because it's laundry day! We also have a large backyard with a firepit, BBQ, and HOT TUB! (Which is pretty amazing in all these winter storms, in case you were wondering.) One of the roommates recently made a ladder ball set and is going to attempt to make a cornhole set as well - so hopefully we'll be putting the BBQ to good use once the summer weather hits. The kitchen has all the normal kitchen things (fridge, oven, stovetop, kitchen table, storage space etc), and some less normal kitchen things (mini fridge that tends to be the beer fridge, DISHWASHER!, usually freshly caught fish, etc). Living room has two couches and a dual purpose guest bed / overflow seating bench - for when you want to have people over - and a desk - for when you need to be productive. There are also several varieties of geckos, chameleons, fish, and two snakes. They mostly keep to themselves. Your new roommates: Departing will be our favorite French couple, Benoit and Elma. That leaves four of us: Austin - Grad student at UC Berkeley who studies exercise physiology and metabolism. Interests include sports, bicycling, motorcycling, camping/backpacking, and looking like Dwarf King Gimli and the lucky charms leprechaun had a much better looking son. Which isn't true. Because they aren't real. And biology. Typically leaves early and comes back late during the week and is gone 1 - 2 weekends a month. French Alex - Alex just finished his Masters in Bio engineering at UC Berkeley. He is such a bad ass that he is courting job offers from both France and the Bay Area. As such we are not sure how much longer he will be with us. He also enjoys cycling and training - and now that he isn't working on his masters thesis gets to actually spend some time away from his office / computer. American Alex - Everyone calls him Stubbs. This makes it easier, because then we can just call French Alex...Alex. Also a grad student at UC Berkeley, and in the same department as Austin. However, he studies 'Lizards and shit', as he so eloquently put it himself once. I'm pretty sure there is more to it than that - he's just modest. His interests include catching whatever fish are in season and bringing back enough to feed the whole house for weeks, deciding at 3 am thursday he will be leaving for a trip that weekend to c..
