Feel at home in this well-designed lakefront home with a private island, two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a finished basement. The house, originally a cabin, has been substantially renovated and is located on a quieter part of the lake. The living room features a gas fireplace and a sectional couch. The recently updated kitchen has new appliances and most of the gadgets to cook a stellar meal. The sunroom offers amazing windows with great lake views, a cozy reading chair, and a comfy couch. The basement has a large seating area with a full-size daybed that also doubles as a comfy couch, and a nook with a desk and bunk beds. The island is connected to the main property by a wooden bridge and features a large patio area with outdoor furniture, Adirondack chairs, a fire pit, and a large dining table. Pets will be considered with a bit more information. Depending on the number, weight, and description of your dog, an additional pet deposit may be required. Highland Lakes is a private community on a series of man-made lakes on top of a mountain. There is a sense of community and nature here, with an abundance of wildlife. The community has 5 lakes and 7 beaches which you are welcome to explore. Warwick, NY, is about 10 minutes away and offers restaurants, bars, a farmer's market, and shops. Crystal Springs, with 5 golf courses and spas, is about 15 minutes away. Mountain Creek, with skiing, is about 10 minutes away. Sound carries over water, so please be ultra-quiet after 10 pm if you’re outside, as the community association gives out fines which will be forwarded to you. If there are messes to clean up beyond the norm, there will be an extra cleaning fee of minimum $500. There is a monitor on the living room fireplace and there will be a charge for usage over 6 hours per day. If you show up with more people then your reservation says, you will be removed without a refund. This is a smoke-free house. If there are any damages or accidents caused by pets, you will be sent the bill. There's an iPad in the house that controls the lights/shades and has a huge list of things to do, places to eat, maps of where things are in the house.
