Nestled between the intercoastal Santa Rosa Sound and the Gulf of Mexico, this quiet neighborhood is full of locals. The beach is a 2-minute walk via the boardwalk across the street, which connects directly to the Gulf of Mexico's sugar-white sandy beach and the intercostal waterway near the Brooks Bridge. The Santa Rosa Sound is a minute or two away on the opposite side, also connected to the boardwalk. Okaloosa Island is known for its less crowded beaches and is about 10-15 minutes from Destin, depending on traffic. This neighborhood is centrally located near restaurants and bars. Locals must communicate with the host before booking. The space up to the bedroom is a hidden bookcase, and you must turn to the side to get through the 14-inch opening. Due to being on an island with a tropical climate, there are tropical insects, amphibians, and fish. The space is treated regularly for pests; however, you may come across palmetto bugs, wood roaches, American roaches, Ceratopogonidae (no-seams), mosquitos, and termites. The property is located very close to the water, and snakes such as water moccasins are seen on occasion, especially near rocks. Swimming in the bay carries a risk of encountering a variety of aquatic species that can cause harm, so swim at your own risk. If any sign or smell of smoke is encountered, a $500 smoke damage cleaning fee will be charged. Pets are not allowed. Only the specific number of guests noted in the booking are allowed on premises unless approved in writing. If the guest exceeds the occupancy noted in the reservation, all guests and/or visitors to the property will be immediately evicted without refund for unused days remaining. The guest also agrees to pay a charge of $20 per person per day for every visitor not identified by the guest in the reservation.
