Studio apartment on the ground floor, inside front door, located at 1718 Mecklenburg Rd with updated paint. Heat, water/sewer, and garbage included. Tenant pays for electric, which includes hot water. This is a large property with a large common-area back deck looking east towards Cayuga Lake (view is mostly trees though!). Apartment is unfurnished. Tile floor, newer kitchen, good closet by the front door. Off-street parking included. This is a good intermediate location between Ithaca and Watkins Glen or even Ithaca and Trumansburg. There is plenty of room on the property for tenants to have a garden. Unit is available March 12. There is no charge to complete the application, but we do require applications before we set up showings. Security deposit equal to one month's rent due at signing of lease, first month's rent due prior to move-in. Rent will be prorated for whatever portion of the first month remains; rent due on the 1st of the month after that. Pet policy: monthly pet rent with no pet deposit. $25/cat and $35/dog. We allow dogs that are spayed/neutered, non-aggressive (a video of your dog at the dog park would be helpful here), house-trained (no pee pads), and well-exercised / non-destructive. We consider well-exercised to be a minimum of two substantial walks per day, not simply taking dogs out to pee and coming back inside. We have had plenty of damage in the past from nice dogs that were not well-exercised and were simply bored while their owners were at work. We expect dog owners to pick up after their dogs outside. We allow cats that are completely litter-box trained and whose owners are really on top of regularly cleaning the litter box. We have also had plenty of damage in the past from cats who chose their own spots to pee because their litter boxes were not cleaned often enough.Terms: Security deposit of $900 due at signing of the lease. First month's rent due prior to move-in. First month's rent will be prorated depending on move-in date, with full month's rent due on the first of the month after that. We ask all interested parties to complete a basic application with references. After we review the application, we can schedule a showing. After you have had the chance to see the apartment, you will be able to finish the application process and pay a screening fee which covers a credit check. The screening fee is a one-time, nonrefundable fee of $30, which pays directly for the credit check.
