Cities Ranked By Rent

–Bethesda, MD inched out Arlington and D.C. to rank as the most expensive city to rent in the metro area with one bedrooms priced at $2,270.
–Washington, D.C., though falling behind Bethesda, remained the second priciest city with rent at $2,260.
–Arlington, VA rent fell to third with rent at $2,140.

–Frederick, MD rent, the only in this report below the state median, was the most affordable at $1,120.
–Rockville, MD had the second least expensive rent with one bedrooms priced at $1,600.
–Silver Spring, MD ranked as third with rent at $1,730.
Growth Rate

–Reston, VA rent had the largest yearly growth rate, up 15.5%.
–Silver Spring, MD followed suit as second with a 14.6% yearly rental growth rate.
–Alexandria, VA rent climbed 13.5%, making it third.
