The Zumper D.C. Metro Report analyzed active listings in July 2019 across 8 metro cities to show the most and least expensive cities and cities with the fastest growing rents. The state median one bedroom rent was $1,533.

Cities Ranked By Rent

Le plus cher

Bethesda, MD rent climbed another $110 to settle at $2,410 and remained the most expensive in the metro.

Arlington, VA saw rent drop $20 to $2,250 but stay the second priciest.

Washington D.C was third with rent decreasing $20 to $2,220.

Le moins cher

Frederick, MD saw rent dip below $1,300, falling $20 to $1,290, and continue to rank as the most affordable city.

Rockville, MD fell down one spot to rank as the second least expensive city with rent decreasing $20 to $1,730.

Silver Spring, MD was third with one bedrooms priced at $1,750.

Growth Rate

Bethesda, MD had the largest year over year rental growth rate again, up 13.7%.

Silver Spring, MD was second with rent climbing 6.7% since this time last year.

The Fastest Growing (M/M%)

Bethesda, MD also had another huge month with rent growing 4.8%.
