Apartments in New Orleans can vary tremendously in price, depending on location. To investigate where exactly the most expensive areas to rent in the city are located, we analyzed several thousand active listings in our database from last month. Neighborhoods were then sorted by the median asking rent of every one and two bedroom home, apartment, and condo in the city. Currently, the median rent price for one bedroom units is $1,050, while two bedroom units is $1,600.

Over $800 more than the city median, Lower Garden District ($1,900) is the most expensive neighborhood in New Orleans for renters currently. Central Business District ($1,800) and French Quarter ($1,690) are also notably pricey as well. Closer to the city median, Mid-City has the 20th most expensive rent, asking $1,090 for one bedroom units.
