The Cheapest & Most Expensive D.C. Neighborhoods For Renters (March 2016)

D.C. rent prices remained fairly stable last month, maintaining position as the 6th most expensive rental market in the nation. Prices for one bedroom units increased 1.9% to a median of $2,170, while two bedrooms jumped 2.4% to a median of $3,000.

Looking closer at a neighborhood level, the most expensive D.C. hoods this winter included Downtown – Penn Quarter – Chinatown ($2,750), Georgetown ($2,700), and Foggy Bottom – GWU – West End ($2,650). More affordable options, priced at $1,400 or under, were found around Trinidad -Langston, Kingman Park, and Anacostia.
