The Cheapest And Most Expensive Boston Neighborhoods For Renters This Fall

Boston rent prices continue to command high prices across a number of neighborhoods and bedroom types. Median one bedroom asking rents increased a further 1.3% this September to $2,300, while two bedrooms remained steady at $2,610. In fact, The Hub was the 3rd most expensive rental market in the US last month, behind only San Francisco and New York City.

The map above, which visualizes Zumper one-bedroom rent data from September, shows the cheapest and most expensive neighborhoods to rent right now in Boston. Pricier areas include D Street – West Broadway ($3,060), Downtown Boston ($3,010), and East Cambridge ($2,990), while more affordable areas can be seen in Allston, Somerville, and Commonwealth.
