The 5 Best Affordable NYC Apartments Right Now (June 3rd)

Affordable apartments in NYC are tough to come by. But not to worry – we’re here with our pick of the best places for around $1,000 per person. Your bank accounts will remain happy, while your friends will remain jealous.

1. Upper East Side, Manhattan – 2 bed, 1 bath, $2,450/month ($1,225/person)

1229 1st Ave, New York, NY 10065
Hey there, Upper East Siders (or most likely soon-to-be Upper East Siders). This pretty UES apartment is quite the charming spot. With hardwood floors, in-unit laundry, and a dishwasher, we know you’ll just love kicking back in your living room and turning on your favorite Gossip Girl episodes. With lots of natural light and quaint details like molding and pretty white tile in the kitchen, we know you and your roomie will love this one.

2. Bushwick, Brooklyn – 2 bed, 1 bath, $2,195/month ($1,097.5/person)

Wilson Ave #2, Brooklyn, NY
Guess what- this Bushwick apartment has no fee! Located near transport, fresh with big windows and a modern kitchen, this is an affordable option if Brooklyn is where you want to be. You’ll have shiny hardwood floors, and a bonus half room for whatever your heart desires. Transform it into a cool office with maps on the wall, house your guitars and make it a music room, or store your out-of-season clothing in it. The sky’s the limit with this one!

3. Hell’s Kitchen, Manhattan – 4 bed, 2 bath, $4,000/month ($1,000/person)

W 50th St, New York, NY
Have three friends you want to room with in Hell’s Kitchen? This apartment has the most pleasing architectural details of the bunch. Look at that exposed brick, those painted white beams, and that awesome tile in the bathroom! You barely need to decorate at all-the interior is already sweet. You’ll be in prime Hell’s Kitchen location. Need any more convincing? This apartment doesn’t have a fee! Grab your friends and move on in because this one is hard to beat.

4. Upper East Side, Manhattan – 2 bed, 1 bath, $2,500/month ($1,250/person)

E 89th St #4W, New York, NY
Okay, we admit it. This is the second Upper East Side pick of the bunch. But in our opinion, it is too good to pass up! With exposed brick and french doors, this, like the previous apartment, is also a gorgeous place. You can’t beat this location and that beautiful fireplace.

5. Central Harlem – 4 bed, 2 bath, $4,000/month ($1,000/person)

2285 Adam Clayton Powell Jr Blvd, New York, NY 10030
Hello four bedrooms in Central Harlem! This is a beautiful white on white apartment. Just look at the stainless steel appliances and those smooth kitchen counters. We’re loving the pendant lights, too. Those bright and shining hardwood floors will be great for “floor surfing” to your favorite classic rock.
