Digging deeper into the Phoenix rental market, we studied several thousand emails and calls, also known as inquiries, sent to Phoenix rental properties last month to identify the most popular neighborhoods and bedroom types.

Situé en plein centre-ville Downtown Phoenix is the city’s most in demand neighborhood this month, sending 10% more inquires than second place, ritzy Biltmore District. Affordable and hip Central City South rounds out the top three most popular Phoenix neighborhoods.
The Most Popular Apartment Unit Types
Sending 31% of this month’s inquiries, two bedroom units commanded the majority of renter interest at a median inquiry price of $950. Close behind, one bedroom units were the next most in demand, producing 28% of inquiries at a median of $770. Three bedroom units followed behind that with 19% of inquiries at $1,100.
Studios and four bedroom units had the least amount of renter interest this month. Studios generated 15% of inquiries at a median price of $690, while four bedroom units produced 7% of inquiries at $1,400.
Méthodologie
The Zumper Neighborhood Popularity Report analyzes every call and email sent in a month to determine renter interest. Neighborhoods are ranked by total inquiries generated to determine the top 10 most in demand areas. Inquiries are also separated into bedroom type, along with each corresponding median inquiry price, to provide the most in-demand bedroom units and prices.
