For those looking to move to the city, we studied several thousand emails and calls, also known as inquiries, sent to rental properties in Memphis last month to determine the most popular neighborhoods and bedroom types.

Midtown – Central is currently the most popular neighborhood right now, sending 7% more inquiries than second place, Downtown Memphis last month. Close behind, eclectic Cooper – Young ranks as the third most in demand Memphis neighborhood.

Three bedroom units are currently seeing the most renter interest, generating 36% of inquiries at a median inquiry price of $810. Two bedroom units are the next most in demand, producing 27% of inquiries at a median price of $600. One bedroom units followed behind that with 22% of inquiries at $520.
Studio and four bedroom units are the least in demand bedroom types. Studios generated 10% of inquiries at a median price of $450 last month, while four bedroom units produced 5% of inquiries at $1,050.
Méthodologie
The Zumper Neighborhood Popularity Report analyzes every call and email sent in a month to determine renter interest. Neighborhoods are ranked by total inquiries generated to determine the top 10 most in demand areas. Inquiries are also separated into bedroom type, along with each corresponding median inquiry price, to provide the most in-demand bedroom units and prices.
