Portland rent prices for one and two bedrooms continued to grow in October. The price for one beds increased 2.9% compared with September, to a median of $1,400, while the price for two beds increased 5.6% to a median of $1,700. In the process, Portland outpaced Denver and Philadelphia to become the 12th most expensive market in the country, according to Zumper’s most recent National Rent Report. 
On a neighborhood level, Pearl ($2,170), Boise ($1,500), and Corbet-Terwilliger-Lair Hill ($1,500) are the most expensive Portland areas currently for renters. Most of the priciest neighborhoods surround the Willamette River, from the center of Portland to the south, with rents ranging between $1,300-$2,170.
Cheaper neighborhoods are located in the southeast portion of the city, with median rents as low as $975 in Brooklyn.
