This April, Portland remained the fourteenth most expensive rental market in the country, with the one bedroom median flat in the month, and up 1.6% in the trailing quarter to $1,300. Two bedrooms rose 2% in the month, settling at a median of $1,530. This puts Portland ahead of Minneapolis, Long Beach, and Atlanta in terms of rent prices, when comparing the top 50 US metro areas by population.
At a neighborhood level, the highest prices in the area were centered around the Pearl District ($1,975), Old Town-Chinatown ($1,595), and Downtown Portland ($1,450). More affordable areas were found to the Southeast and Northeast.
