Last month, Philadelphia was the 12th most expensive rental market in the country, with median rents increasing over the trailing quarter. One bedrooms have risen 1.5% to $1,350, while two bedrooms have further appreciated, up 3.6% to $1,450. The city’s median came ahead of Minneapolis ($1,320), Portland ($1,300), and Denver ($1,290) this March.

At a neighborhood level, the most expensive areas remained in the center of the city; Logan Square ($1,850), Center City West ($1,745), University City ($1,770), and Northern Liberties – Fishtown ($1,770) made the top, while more affordable areas were seen west of downtown, and across the river in Camden, with medians in the $600-$800 range for a one bedroom.
