Rents in Washington DC continued to increase this spring, with the city placing as the fifth most expensive rental market in the country. One bedrooms in the trailing quarter have increased 5% to a median of $2,100, while two bedrooms closely matched, up 5.4% to $2,920. DC rents came ahead of Oakland, Miami, and Chicago on our list of rent prices in the 50 largest US metro regions this June.
Looking closer at specific areas, the most expensive neighborhoods included Georgetown ($2,600), Foggy Bottom – GWU ($2,300), and Dupont Circle ($2,300). More affordable finds were located in Mount Ranier ($980), Anacostia ($995), and Woodridge – Fort Lincoln ($1,125).
