This May, Atlanta became the sixteenth most expensive city in the US to rent, as prices for a one bedroom increased 4.3% in the trailing quarter to $1,200. Similarly in the period, two bedrooms also jumped 7.1%, settling at $1,500. These changes have positioned the city ahead of Long Beach, Baltimore, and Austin on our list of the top 50 rental markets in the United States.

Looking closer at neighborhoods, the highest priced areas tended to cluster around two main areas. The first includes the region created by Midtown ($1,539), Old Fourth Ward ($1,379), Ansley Park ($1,480), and Brookwood ($1,525). The second resides further north in the Buckhead area, including Peachtree Heights West ($1,645), South Tuxedo Park ($1,600), and North Buckhead ($1,603). More affordable options were found in the southwest and southeast of the city.
