Boston maintained position as the 3rd most expensive rental market in the U.S this January, with one bedrooms asking a median of $2,390 and two bedrooms asking $2,660. The city came ahead of Oakland, San Jose, and Washington DC on our most recent list of rent prices across the United States.

The priciest areas in Boston continue to hover around the $3,000 threshold. These neighborhoods include Downtown Boston ($3,150), D Street – West Broadway ($2,970), and East Cambridge ($2,900). More affordable areas, priced under $2,000, can be found around Mission Hill ($1,750), Columbus Park – Andrew Square ($1,770), and Telegraph Hill ($1,910).
