San Francisco Neighborhood Prices Mapped This Winter 2017

San Francisco, though continuing to rank as the most expensive city to rent in the nation, saw prices dip back below the $3,400 threshold this month, falling 0.9% to $3,390. Two bedrooms saw a similar trend with rent down 2.7% to $4,380.

While Lake Street and Mission had the fastest growing rents this quarter, up 11% and 8%, respectively, Cole Valley and Lower Pacific Heights saw the biggest rent dips, both down around 9%.

This winter, SOMA ($3,700), South Beach ($3,675), and Telegraph Hill ($3,650) were the most expensive neighborhoods to rent, followed by Castro, Financial District, and Pacific Heights. More affordable rentals, priced at less than $3,000, could be found in Bayview, Western Addition, and Lower Pacific Heights.
