San Francisco Bay Area Metro Report: September 2019

The Zumper San Francisco Metro Area Report analyzed active listings in August 2019 across 29 metro cities to show the most and least expensive cities and cities with the fastest growing rents. The California one bedroom median rent was $1,823 last month.

The Most Expensive

–San Francisco was the most expensive city with one bedrooms priced at $3,540.

–Mountain View rent grew 1.4% last month to $3,500 and ranked as the second priciest city.

–Palo Alto was third with rent priced at $3,300.

The Least Expensive

-Vallejo ranked as the most affordable city with one bedrooms priced at $1,390.

–Antioch was second with rent at $1,650.

-Concord ranked as third with rent growing 4.8% to $1,740.

The Fastest Growing (Y/Y%)

–Antioch had the fastest growing rent, up 14.6% since this time last year.

–Oakland saw rent climb 13.6%, making it the second fastest growing.

–Santa Clara was third with rent growing 12.4%.

The Fastest Growing (M/M%)

–Oakland and San Leandro had the largest monthly rental growth rate, up 5.2%.

–Livermore rent jumped 5.1% last month, making it the second fastest growing.

–Redwood City ranked as third with rent up 5.0%.
