San Francisco Bay Area Metro Report: October 2019

The Zumper San Francisco Metro Area Report analyzed active listings in September 2019 across 29 metro cities to show the most and least expensive cities and cities with the fastest growing rents. The California one bedroom median rent was $1,811 last month.

The Most Expensive

–San Francisco was the most expensive city with one bedrooms priced at $3,550.

–Mountain View rent grew 0.6% to $3,520 and ranked as the second priciest city.

–Palo Alto was third with rent priced at $3,220.

The Least Expensive

–Vallejo ranked as the most affordable city with one bedrooms priced at $1,460.

–Antioch was second with rent at $1,580.

–Concord ranked as third with rent climbing 2.3% to $1,780.

The Fastest Growing (Y/Y%)

–Antioch had the fastest growing rent, up 15.0% since this time last year.

–Oakland saw rent climb 14.3%, making it the second fastest growing.

–Vallejo was third with rent jumping 11.5%.

The Fastest Growing (M/M%)

–South San Francisco had the largest monthly rental growth rate, up 5.2%.

–Vallejo and Daly City rents both jumped 5.0% last month, making them tied for the second fastest growing.

–Livermore ranked as third with rent growing 4.9%.
