San Francisco Bay Area Metro Report: November 2019

The Zumper San Francisco Metro Area Report analyzed active listings in October 2019 across 29 metro cities to show the most and least expensive cities and cities with the fastest growing rents. The California one bedroom median rent was $1,795 last month.

The Most Expensive

–San Francisco was the most expensive city with one bedrooms priced at $3,530.

–Mountain View rent dropped 0.6% to $3,500 and ranked as the second priciest city.

–Menlo Park was third with rent priced at $3,200.

The Least Expensive

–Vallejo and Antioch tied for the most affordable city with one bedrooms both priced at $1,500.

–Concord was the next least expensive with rent at $1,720.

–Richmond ranked as fourth with rent priced at $1,880.

The Fastest Growing (Y/Y%)

–South San Francisco had the fastest growing rent, up 15.7% since this time last year.

–Antioch saw rent climb 15.4%, making it the second fastest growing.

–San Leandro was third with rent growing 15%.

The Fastest Growing (M/M%)

–Berkeley had the largest monthly rental growth rate, up 5.2%.

–Union City rent jumped 5.0% last month, making them the second fastest growing.

–Campbell ranked as third with rent up 3.7%.
