The Zumper San Francisco Metro Area Report analyzed active listings in November 2019 across 30 metro cities to show the most and least expensive cities and cities with the fastest growing rents. The California one bedroom median rent was $1,762 last month.

The Most Expensive
–San Francisco was the most expensive city with one bedrooms priced at $3,490.
–Mountain View rent dropped 1.4% to $3,450 and ranked as the second priciest.
–Menlo Park was third with rent at $3,100.
The Least Expensive
–Vallejo and Antioch were tied for most affordable city with one bedrooms both priced at $1,500.
–Concord was second with rent at $1,720.
–Livermore ranked as the third least expensive with rent at $1,860.

The Fastest Growing (Y/Y%)
–South San Francisco had the fastest growing rent, up 15.8% since this time last year.
–Antioch saw rent climb 15.4%, making it the second fastest growing.
–San Leandro was third with rent jumping 12.8%
The Fastest Growing (M/M%)
–South San Francisco had the largest monthly rental growth rate, up 4.9%.
–Berkeley rent climbed 2.9% last month, making it the second fastest growing.
–Daly City ranked as third with rent increasing 2.1% last month.
