San Francisco Apartment Amenities That Will Make You Want To Move

Apartment hunting is a lot like finding the perfect person to date. You’ve got a list of criteria that you might have liked in your previous experiences, or maybe some that are the opposite of some of the prior things you disliked.

And, every so often, in a moment that can only be considered a gift from the apartment hunting universe, you can find that one special feature that draws you in so strongly that you can’t help but explore it further.

We combed through some of San Francisco’s current rental listings to find some of those game-changers and let you in on some of the best apartment amenities you didn’t even know you were missing.

Philz Coffee & Tea Service

At 1160 mission in SoMa, you’ll be spending more than the average San Francisco rent (and that says something!) but you’ll also be getting way more than the average apartment amenities. Aside from the usual walk-in closets, upgraded cabinets, a steam shower with marble tile, building concierge and package service, you’ll also have one of our personal favorite amenities of all time: Philz coffee and tea! How much better does it get than having a piping hot Tesora in your hand before you even walk out the door?

Electric Car Charging Station

While this might be attractive to a relatively small subset of San Francisco renters, it’s extremely useful for those who do have an electric set of wheels. While there are plenty of charging stations across the city, the convenience of being able to recharge your car while you recharge yourself in one of your two bedrooms could make this apartment the one you told that other apartment not to worry about.

Pet Grooming Station

In this city, finding a pet-friendly rental isn’t too much of an issue. There are plenty of buildings that allow for pets of a certain breed or size, but how many of them offer a very special grooming experience for said pets? More than you’d think, actually. Various buildings in San Francisco, from Waterbend to The District, provide a fully equipped pet spa, with everything from a giant bathtub with a removable shower head to a variety of scented shampoos, conditioners, and perfumes (purr-fumes?).

Movie Theater

Before you get too excited, we’re talking about a building amenity here. Increasingly, you’ll see luxury apartment buildings with scheduled movie nights for residents, some of which even include snacks and drinks.

Dry Cleaning

Check ‘dry cleaning’ off the list of things you no longer have to leave your house to complete! Apartment buildings like Solaire provide laundry and dry cleaning pick up and delivery – most of which is included with your rent.

Shared Automobile Services

Need to borrow a car? Forget Enterprise! Solaire is yet again a winner in this category (along with some of the various newer buildings downtown) that have partnered with car-sharing services to let you rent a car right from your building’s parking lot.

Sound-blocking Bedroom Windows

Living in an apartment in a city can sometimes prove to be both the best and worst possible situation. With accessibility to happening streets, popular bars and restaurants, and endless activities, also comes lots of noise on those nights when you’re trying to catch a little extra shut-eye. Enter sound-blocking bedroom windows. You’ll never have to lie awake in bed listening to that couple who had one too many glasses of wine get into an argument over what they’re going to name their future child.

Wine Cellar, Yoga Room, Childrens’ Playroom, Massage Room…

…the lists really never end. At Millennium Tower, you won’t only find a wine cellar, but a wine tasting room to go along with it. You can also drop the kids off in the playroom and head on over to the massage spa for a little relaxation break. The only thing this place is missing is you.
