San Diego Metro Report: September 2017

The Zumper San Diego Metro Report analyzed active listings in August across 16 metro cities to show the most and least expensive cities and cities with the fastest growing rents. The California state median was $1,692 last month.

Cities Ranked By Rent

Le plus cher

Coronado, CA had the most expensive rent with one bedroom units priced at $3,640.

Solana Beach, CA, though significantly cheaper than Coronado, was still the second most expensive with rent at $2,190.

Carlsbad, CA outpaced Encinitas this month to rank as third with rent at $1,780.

Le moins cher

Lemon Grove, CA was the most affordable city with rent at $1,200.

National City, CA rent followed closely behind as second at $1,210.

El Cajon, CA rent grew 4.9% to $1,280 since last month and ranked as the third least expensive.

Coronado, CA rent, along with being the most expensive rent in the metro, was the fastest growing since this time last year, up 15.6%.

Escondido, CA followed behind with a 15.2% yearly growth rate.

Carlsbad, CA was third with rent up 12.7%.

Poway, CA had the fastest growing rent since last month, up 5.2%.

Chula Vista, CA rent had a 5% monthly growth rate, making it second.

El Cajon, CA ranked as third with rent climbing 4.9% since last month.
