The Zumper San Diego Metro Area Report analyzed active listings in October 2019 across 12 metro cities to show the most and least expensive cities and cities with the fastest growing rents. The California one bedroom median rent was $1,795 last month.

–Coronado was the most expensive city with one bedrooms priced at $2,970.

–Carlsbad rent grew 5.1% to $2,070 and ranked as the second priciest city.

–Encinitas was third with rent priced at $1,850.

–El Cajon ranked as the most affordable city with one bedrooms priced at $1,300.

–Escondido was second with rent at $1,450.

–Imperial Beach ranked as third with rent down 5.2% to $1,460.

–Coronado had the fastest growing rent, up 16% since this time last year.

–Vista saw rent climb 9.7%, making it the second fastest growing.

–San Marcos was third with rent growing 8.2%.

–Oceanside rent jumped 3.7% last month, making it the second fastest growing.

–Escondido ranked as third with rent up 2.8%.
