San Diego Metro Report: February 2019

The Zumper San Diego Metro Report analyzed active listings in January 2019 across 17 metro cities to show the most and least expensive cities and cities with the fastest growing rents. The California state median was $1,769 last month.

Cities Ranked By Rent

The Most Expensive

Coronado, CA remained the most expensive city with one bedrooms priced at $2,630.

Solana Beach, CA saw rent grow $30 to $2,250 but continue to rank as the second priciest city.

Carlsbad & Encinitas, CA tied for third both with prices at $1,950.

The Least Expensive

El Cajon, CA rent shot up $60 to $1,300 but stayed the most affordable in the metro.

Lemon Grove, CA rent was $1,390, making it the second least expensive.

Santee, CA followed closely as third with rent at $1,400.

Growth Rate

The Fastest Growing (Y/Y%)

Imperial Beach & National City, CA rents tied for the fastest growing, both up 11.8% since this time last year.

San Diego, CA was second with rent climbing 11.7%.

The Fastest Growing (M/M%)

El Cajon, CA was the only city with a significant monthly rental growth rate, up 4.8%.
