San Diego Metro Report: February 2018

The Zumper San Diego Metro Report analyzed active listings in January across 15 metro cities to show the most and least expensive cities and cities with the fastest growing rents. The California state median was $1,823 last month.

The Most Expensive

Coronado, CA rent continued to fall, decreasing $150 to $2,820 but continued to rank as the most expensive in the metro.

Solana Beach, CA remained the second priciest city with one bedrooms priced at $2,530.

Encinitas, CA was third with rent at $2,010.

The Least Expensive

National City & Imperial Beach, CA tied for the most affordable city with one bedrooms both priced at $1,270.

El Cajon, CA moved up one spot to rank as the second least expensive city with rent at $1,290.

Escondido, CA rent dropped $70 to $1,340 and moved down one spot to become the third most affordable.

The Fastest Growing (Y/Y%)

San Marcos, CA had the fastest growing rent since this time last year, up 15.3%.

Solana Beach, CA followed closely behind with a 15% year over year rental growth rate.

Encinitas & Carlsbad, CA tied for third with prices both climbing 14.9%.

The Fastest Growing (M/M%)

Encinitas, CA rent was the fastest growing last month, up 5.2%.

La Mesa, CA ranked as second with rent climbing 4.2%.SDFeb
